Shawn Green is a two-time Major League All-Star who spent 15 big league seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays (1993-99), Los Angeles Dodgers (2000-04), Arizona Diamondbacks (2005-06), and New York Mets (2006-07).
His career batting average was .282, with 328 home runs and 1,071 runs batted in. (To compare: Hall of Fame legend Hank Greenberg hit only 3 more career home runs, with 1,276 RBIs.)
In various seasons, Green had more than 100 RBIs four times, scored 100 runs or more four times, hit 40 or more home runs three times (49, 42 and 42), and led the league in doubles, extra base hits and total bases.
Green set or tied various MLB records, including: 4 homeruns in a game, most home runs in two consecutive games (5); most (19) total bases in a game. A recipient of Golden Glove (superior fielder) and Silver Slugger (best offensive player) Awards, at the time of his retirement, Green was one of only four active players with at least 300 homeruns, 1,000 RBIs and runs scored, 400 career doubles, a .280 batting average, and 150 stolen bases (including 35 in 1998).
