DESCRIPTION:

Sandor Gombos won a gold medal in Team Sabre at the 1928 Olympic Games.

The Hungarian won gold medals in Individual Sabre at the 1926 and 1927 European Championships, and gold medals in Team Sabre at the 1930 and 1931 Europeans. The European Championships were predecessor to the World Championships, first held in 1937.
