Kevin Youkilis was a major force on the Boston Red Sox World Series victories in 2004 and 2007. The fabled '04 Boston team broke baseball's infamous :curse of the Bambino (Babe Ruth)" that haunted the American League franchise for nearly 100 years.

A three-time American League All Star–2008, 2009, 2011 – Youkilis registered 14 hits and a .500 batting average in the AL championship playoffs that preceded the 2007 Series.

His 1.000 fielding average (2002 chances without an error) earned him the 2007 AL Gold Glove Award for best defensive first baseman. His 238 errorless games over two seasons (2007-2008) set the Major League record for most consecutive games at first base without a miscue.

Youkilis established a .281 career batting average, with 150 homeruns and 618 RBIs. Nine of his playing years were with the Red Sox, the final two with the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox.

The first and third baseman won the 2008 American League Hank Aaron Award presented annually to the best hitter in each league.
