Hungarian Gyula Torok won the Flyweight (51 kg) gold medal at the 1960 Rome Olympics. One year earlier he was Flyweight silver medalist at the European Championships.
Always an amateur, he captured Hungarian National Flyweight titles in 1957 and 1958, and Bantamweight championships in 1961, 1961 and 1964.
