Dr. Gilad Weingarten was the Israel Long Jump Champion and has made an impact on the world of sports worldwide, especially in Israel for over 60 years. He served as Director of the Nat Holman School for Coaches and Instructors at Wingate Institute for 10 years. From 1991 through 1999, Dr. Weingarten was the Director General of Wingate. During his tenure, he established the National Center for Young Talented Athletes.
In addition, he lectured at the Tel Aviv University and other reputable institutions in Israel and worldwide.
For over 50 years he has been a commentator on Israeli TV covering 13 Olympic Games, 18 World Championships, and numerous additional major meets. He was the founder and Chairman of the Anti-Doping Committee, Israel Olympic Committee, and Israel's Ministry of Culture and Sport. He also oversaw the Sports Department at two Maccabiah Games. and was co-founder and chairman of the Elite Sport Department of Israel Olympic committee.
Dr. Weingarten received his PhD from the University of Minnesota in 1970, specializing in Sport Psychology and Sport Sciences.
