DESCRIPTION:

Strom was the third National Basketball Association referee elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame (1995), and one of only twelve referees who have been elected.

Starting in 1957 as one of the NBA’s first fulltime court officials, and often referred to as “the greatest of its referees”, Strom spent 29 years in the NBA and three years in the American Basketball Association (ABA). He officiated 29 NBA and ABA Finals, and 50 NBA and ABA Final games. Strom officiated 2,400 regular season games during his 32 year pro career, and 295 playoff games. He also refereed seven NBA All-Star Games.

He authored the biography, Calling the Shots: My Five Decades in the NBA.
