Brian Teacher won the Australian Open Singles in 1980, only the second Jewish player to win a men's Grand Slam Singles event (first was IJSHOF honoree Dick Savitt).
His career-high World Singles ranking was No. 7 in 1981, and No. 5 World Doubles the same year.
The serve-and-volleyer was a UCLA All-American 1973 to 1976, and a member of the Bruins 1975-76 NCAA championship teams.
After turning pro, Teacher won 8 career Singles championships and 16 Doubles titles.
