Amir Peled has dedicated his life to Israel and many organizations that helped promote the State of Israel. Nearest to his heart has been serving as Chairman of Maccabi World Union overseeing the vast growth of the World Maccabiah Games and numerous additional projects of MWU, connecting Jewish youth to Israel. Each Maccabiah earned the moniker of the biggest and best, time and again. His innovative approach to leadership on behalf of the Maccabi Movement saw over 10,000 athletes from over 70 countries attend the Maccabiah with a quality, memorable experience, facilitating a strong connection and love for Israel.

In 2025, Peled is Chairman of the Maccabi World Union group and its subsidiaries, in addition to serving as International Chairman of Maccabiah 2025, as he did in 2013, 2017 and 2021.

Besides being awarded the IJSHOF Lifetime Achievement Award, he has been named Yakir Maccabi – the highest award in Maccabi World Union during the 2025 Maccabiah, for his international activities and devotion to the Movement.
